MBA News: Jobs on the Rise; Salaries Lag

It seems that the job market for MBA graduates is looking up. In a September 2010 survey, the GMAC found that 88% of MBA students who graduated in the summer of 2010 already had job offers, a 4% increase from 2009. However, only 59% obtained the kind of job that they had wanted at that time. And, although starting salaries are up from those in 2009, they are still below the median starting salaries for graduates in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Combine these findings with a decline in the number of business school applications, and now may just be the right time to apply.
