When you select an MBA program, you are not just choosing your learning environment, but are also committing to becoming part of a community. Each Thursday, we offer a window into life “beyond the MBA classroom” at a top business school.
Partners of students at the MIT Sloan School of Management (who are referred to as SOS, or Significant Others of Sloan) are included in almost every aspect of school life and may even be actively involved in organizing campus events. One SOS group in particular offers advice to partners on moving to Boston, finding jobs, understanding and obtaining health insurance, etc. While partners are welcome to participate in any Sloan social function, SOS also arranges events just for its members, from art gallery and movie outings to regular happy hours.
