Dean Ted Snyder broke a lot of hearts at Chicago-Booth when he announced that he would be leaving the school at the end of the academic year. Snyder oversaw a renaissance at Chicago-Booth and helped secure its future by landing a whopping $300MM donation from alumnus David Booth. Snyder, who now has a history of shocking departures — after a surprise move from UVA-Darden in 2001 to what was then the Chicago GSB – announced today that he would become the new Dean of the Yale School of Management in 2011. Yale students and alumni are no doubt excited as Snyder is known for his fundraising prowess, but more so for his ability to play the rankings game, particularly at BusinessWeek.
