Columbia Business School (CBS) has received a pledge of $25 million from Leon G. Cooperman (CBS ’67) for facilities construction in its new Manhattanville campus. Cooperman, who is the chairman and CEO of Omega Advisors and a member of CBS’s Board of Overseers, endowed the Leon Cooperman Professorship of Finance and Economics in 1995, started the Leon Cooperman Scholarship in 2000 and established the Leon G. Cooperman ’67 Scholarship Challenge in 2007. His latest gift is the second major donation supporting campus growth after Henry R. Kravis’s $100 million gift in October 2010.
