So, you think some business schools have an age bias? Really? Well, MIT Sloan admitted not only a 60-year-old former Wall Street executive, but also a 21-year-old straight out of college in its incoming Class of 2013. MIT Sloan’s newest class of approximately 400 students is truly a diverse one, with almost 40% of students coming from countries other than the United States. In addition to the grey-haired former exec and the recent grad, the class includes a television reporter from Tokyo and a former explosive ordinance disposal platoon commander in the Navy who did two tours in Iraq. Not to worry, plenty of bankers, consultants and marketers can still be found among the class’s ranks. And of course you can still stand out to the admissions committee without having a radically different profile.
