We just got word from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business that Austan Goolsbee, chairman of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, will be returning to the school this fall. In a White House news release, President Obama said that Goolsbee has been one of his “most trusted advisers,” helping to “steer our country out of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.” Before joining the Obama administration, Goolsbee spent 14 years at Chicago Booth, teaching courses in economics and policy of the telecom, media and technology industries, microeconomics, and strategy in the information economy. Sunil Kumar, dean of Chicago Booth, noted that Goolsbee’s already popular courses will now be even more popular thanks to his inside-the-beltway experience.
