A few days ago, with the news that only 84 students were having their GMAT test scores cancelled, we declared an end to the Scoretop scandal. Indeed, considering the number of students initially investigated, the scandal is over for the vast majority. However, for the 84 students who had their scores cancelled, the drama will continue until the specific schools determine the disciplinary action that they will take, if any. The Wall Street Journal has reported that Wharton has three students whose scores have been cancelled, Chicago has two and Stanford has a graduate whose score has been cancelled. Considering the complications involved in disciplining current students and graduates, as opposed to admits, one may imagine that this issue will be material for a Harvard Business School case one day. We will keep readers apprised of developments with these students.
