MBA News: Wharton to Accept the GRE

Applying an MBA may have just gotten easier and cheaper. Following the lead of Harvard, Stanford and MIT, Wharton will now allow students to submit GRE scores, instead of GMAT scores. In February, Wharton told the Daily Pennsylvanian that it had no intention of accepting the GRE in the near future. Perhaps Wharton was concerned that it was risking losing strong candidates who have only taken the GRE to tehse other top schools? Wharton states this decision will help the school attract more students with liberal arts backgrounds. From the student perspective, this decision will allow students to apply to a number of graduate schools beyond just business programs and will be easier on the wallet, as the GRE costs $100 less than the GMAT.
