After hearing that Harvard Business School (HBS) is altering its Round 1 admissions decision timeline, we are not surprised to learn that Wharton is making a similar change, giving candidates a cutoff date by when they should expect to hear from the school regarding interview requests. According to an email forwarded to us by a client, Wharton’s admissions committee will release interview invitations on October 29 and November 5. By November 5, the committee will release all final admissions decisions to candidates not being invited for an interview and therefore no longer being considered for admission. If you are invited to have an interview, you must complete the interview by December 3, and you will then receive your final admissions decision by December 17. So the waiting game will end early for Wharton and HBS applicants. Which admissions office will be next?
