Who We Are: The Full-Time mbaMission Team

Seamane Flanagan

Director of Content/Consultant

I have been a professional editor and copy writer for almost 30 years, with an emphasis on marketing and nonfiction texts. I majored in French at Washington and Lee University, where I also studied Russian and Japanese, and after graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, I received a Fulbright Fellowship to teach English in a suburb of Paris for a year. After returning to the States, I began working for such organizations as Thomson Financial, Smarter Travel Media, RTI International, American Book Publishing, Rookwood Press, Decision Resources, and CFA Institute, in addition to numerous smaller clients, on a wide variety of electronic and print materials, from high-worth government proposals and grant applications to literary criticism to financial, medical, and market research. I was also a communications specialist at The Darden School at the University of Virginia for several years, supporting, among other groups, the admissions department, for which I wrote and produced all marketing pieces and oversaw all significant media interaction. Having been a part of mbaMission since 2007, I helped develop our Complete Start-to-Finish MBA Admissions Guide, original suite of school-specific Interview Guides, entire Insider’s Guide series, and “What Matters?” and “What More?”: 50 Successful Essays for the Stanford GSB and HBS (and Why They Worked), while serving as editorial support on blog posts, advertisements, newsletters, presentations, site content, and other such materials for the company and its sister firms.
